A359 Traffic Campaign
Do you have serious concerns about the safety of our roads?
Members of Marston Magna Parish Council would like to propose that a group is formed to campaign for action to reduce lorries and speeding traffic along the A359 and to consider road safety issues along this route. We feel that a cross parish campaign will have greater influence than we can achieve as individual parishes.
In contrast to other main roads into Yeovil - the A359 passes through series of five villages: Galhampton, Sparkford, Queen Camel, Marston Magna and Mudford, and it is in these villages where the vehicle incidents causing serious injuries or fatalities often occur (according to data on crashmap.co.uk).
We invite representatives from Sparkford, Queen Camel and Mudford Parish Councils and as many members of the public, from each of the villages, as possible to join us for a meeting to discuss forming this action group.
Somerset Councillor Mike Lewis will act as chairman for the initial meeting which will be held at
Marston Magna village hall at 7:00pm on the 26th April 2023.
We look forward to seeing you there.
