National Highways notification - A303 Sparkford to Podimore roundabout maintenance works

25th November 2022

A303 Hazelgrove roundabout (Sparkford) to Podimore roundabout full overnight closures for essential maintenance works

Thursday 24 November to Saturday 26 November 2022

National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s motorways and major A-roads. This email is to let you know we will shortly be carrying out essential maintenance works on the A303 from Hazelgrove roundabout to Podimore roundabout. The work isn’t part of the A303 Sparkford to Ilchester major upgrade scheme, and may include but isn’t limited to patching potholes, carrying out surveys and vegetation clearance.

The work will start on the evening of Thursday 24 November and finish on the morning of Saturday 26 November and will take place overnight between the hours of 9pm and 4am.

To minimise disruption, we’ll work on weeknights only when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day we will keep the road open as usual.

The work is currently programmed as follows:

Thursday 24 November to Saturday 26 November - full overnight closures for 2 weeknights, from Hazelgrove roundabout to Podimore roundabout from 9pm until 4am the following morning.

There will be a fully signed diversion route in place during the full overnight closures with advance signage, but please allow extra time for your journey.

A303 eastbound traffic will exit at Podimore roundabout and use the A37, A30, B3092 and B3081 to rejoin the A303.
A303 westbound traffic will exit at the junction for Gillingham and Wincanton (B3081) and use the B3081, B3092, A30 and A37 to rejoin the A303.

Access for residents will be maintained but may involve a short delay depending on our stage of work. Please show a copy of this postcard or speak to our gatemen who will escort you through the works if necessary.

We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes. Please monitor www.trafficengland.com to keep updated.
