A recycling result to celebrate on Somerset Day New figures released on Somerset Day show that nine out of ten households in the county are now recycling. Looking at a representative sample of more than 3,000 homes in March this year, 91% were found to be actively recycling and sorting items into their boxes and Bright Blue Bag. Sunday recycling collections as crews catch up Crews will be working this Sunday (14 May) to catch-up on outstanding recycling collections in villages and towns around Frome, Wells, Shepton Mallet and in parts of Bridgwater. Coronation celebrations mean waste collections will be a day later Somerset Council is reminding residents to make sure their bins are ‘standing to attention’ as crews collect a day later in the week beginning Monday 8 May.
